What you will do

• Define product requirements for next-generation optical interconnects while balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, power, and time to market.
• Act as the primary technical interface for customers, foundry partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Align silicon photonics, electronics, firmware, software, validation, and manufacturing teams around priorities, trade-offs, milestones, and deliverables.
• Develop packaged silicon photonics solutions, including co-packaged optics and optical I/O, with attention to fiber attach, assembly tolerances, thermal constraints, reliability, and scale-up readiness.
• Perform optical link budget analysis using simulation and modeling to evaluate noise, distortion, and other system impairments.
• Define testing strategies and methodologies from engineering verification and product validation through system integration, including equipment selection and hands-on laboratory work.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience developing and delivering complex silicon photonics and packaged optics products from concept through production.
• Deep expertise in silicon photonics design, performance characteristics, and technical trade-offs.
• Direct experience with packaged silicon photonics or optical engine development, including packaging, integration, and manufacturing considerations.
• Experience with optical link budget analysis, simulation, modeling, and optical system test plans such as EVT, DVT, and SVT.
• Ability to drive execution across hardware, firmware, software, validation, manufacturing, customers, suppliers, and foundry partners.
• Must be hands-on in a laboratory environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting, including Python.
• Experience working with hyperscale data center customers or suppliers on packaged optics, co-packaged optics, or optical I/O.
• Experience with fiber attach technologies, optical assembly processes, and package-level integration challenges.
