What you will do

• Architect, design, and optimize active and passive silicon photonic integrated circuits.
• Plan and execute chip design, layout, tape-out, testing, validation, performance debugging, and manufacturing activities.
• Design and simulate photonic integrated circuit systems using tools such as Lumerical Interconnect and ADS.
• Collaborate with foundries, validation teams, manufacturers, and quality and reliability groups.
• Conduct data analysis, reliability qualification, and delivery of known-good-die solutions.
• Enable high-volume manufacturing flows and create technical documentation and test content for the chip lifecycle.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of industry experience, or a PhD with 6+ years of industry experience.
• Experience developing photonic integrated circuits from concept through high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience designing, simulating, and testing complex PICs, including link budget, electrical power budget, back-reflection budget, and Monte Carlo analysis.
• Experience contributing to or leading PIC tape-outs.
• Familiarity with optical design and simulation tools such as Lumerical, RSoft, Tidy3D, Photon Design, Matlab, or Python.
• Familiarity with layout tools such as Cadence, KLayout, Synopsys OptoCompiler, or GDSFactory.

Nice to have

• Experience with photonic test methodologies and equipment, including optical spectrum analyzers, tunable lasers, optical backscatter reflectometers, optical vector analyzers, and fiber or free-space coupling.
• Exposure to EDA/PDA tools, LVS, SDL, and DRC methodologies.
• Experience analyzing PIC test data and optimizing designs with JMP, Matlab, Python, or statistical libraries.
• Ability to solve problems collaboratively and deliver innovative solutions in large-scale integrated circuit development.
