Principal Analyst, IT R&D Systems (Lab Informatics)

Location: Onsite at the San Diego HQ, San Diego, California, United States

Annual base salary: $132,700–$182,000, plus a target annual bonus of 30% and eligibility for a long-term equity incentive program.

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of GxP and non-GxP R&D systems, including LIMS, ELN, modeling and design, business intelligence, and domain-specific AI/ML solutions.
• Develop integration solutions for research, preclinical development, and technical operations lab informatics systems.
• Guide data pipelines, data models, metadata, reference data, and scientific semantics to improve interoperability and data quality.
• Lead complex cross-functional projects and programs, including requirements analysis, implementation, administration, support, and release management.
• Monitor and resolve technical issues, evaluate emerging technologies, and improve departmental systems and processes.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, communicate complex technical concepts, and mentor less-experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• BS/BA in computer science or IT with 6+ years of relevant pharmaceutical-environment experience, or a master's degree with 4+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience supporting validated GxP applications for regulatory purposes in a biotech or pharmaceutical company is strongly recommended.
• In-depth knowledge of application technologies and R&D systems, with broad expertise in the relevant functional discipline.
• Strong project management, project leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead multiple teams, manage complex projects and deadlines, work independently, and mentor colleagues.
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to communicate technical information effectively across organizational levels.
