Sr Business System Analyst

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid work model with two core office days, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

Annual base pay: $89,000–$119,000, plus potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Administer and optimize order-to-cash applications, including Zuora, AvaTax, and payment-processing vendors.
• Maintain configurations, integrations, workflows, and user access across the billing systems stack.
• Design, implement, and test internal controls such as access reviews, reconciliations, and exception monitoring.
• Partner with Finance, Tax, CX, eCommerce, and Enterprise Information Systems stakeholders to define needs and document solutions.
• Monitor system and process effectiveness and recommend improvements to billing operations, controls, and policies.
• Support engineering delivery through functional requirements, acceptance criteria, test reviews, demos, and stakeholder approvals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing, optimizing, or sustaining Zuora or a similar order-to-cash platform.
• 5+ years of experience in business systems, operations, or financial systems roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, communication, and complex problem-solving skills.
• Experience writing functional requirements, developing test and release plans, and designing operational controls.
• Working knowledge of Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report processes for ecommerce and recurring-service revenue models.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SQL, Avalara AvaTax, Paymentech, Tableau, and Jira.
• Interest in using AI tools to improve process efficiency, decision-making, or system operations.
