Energy Management Controls Technician (Commercial Refrigeration)

What you will do

• Install, test, balance, program, adjust, maintain, modify, and repair energy management systems for refrigeration, HVAC-R, and lighting.
• Repair and test electronic equipment, industrial controls, transmitters, antennas, and related components.
• Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and software, inspect installations, and troubleshoot electrical and controls problems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, plans, specifications, service bulletins, and technical procedures to determine installation requirements.
• Maintain equipment logs covering performance issues, repairs, calibrations, and tests.
• Coordinate with customers, building owners, contractors, subcontractors, other trades, and field support staff while completing projects and closeout documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 10 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination; a technical degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of energy management, HVAC-R, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, including Novar, Danfoss, and Emerson CPC.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at high elevations, lift up to 50 pounds, and work nights, weekends, and out of town as required.
• Mechanical aptitude, strong communication and organizational skills, customer focus, project management skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities.

Nice to have

• EPA 608 certification.
• Technical degree.
