Plumbing Technician

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, or Southaven, Mississippi, United States. On-site work in a manufacturing environment; all shifts, overtime, and weekends may be required.

What you will do

• Assemble, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair process water, wastewater, chemical transfer, heating, drainage, and facility plumbing systems.
• Service commercial plumbing fixtures, pressure vessels, pipes, fittings, and related equipment in accordance with specifications, plumbing codes, and OSHA standards.
• Disassemble, inspect, clean, test, repair, and reassemble pumps and other mechanical equipment in the shop or on site.
• Track multiple work orders, respond to emergencies, perform failure assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Read schematics, blueprints, technical instructions, and equipment documentation to complete assembly and repairs.
• Perform routine safety observations and inspections and coordinate troubleshooting and maintenance with other departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 3 years of plumbing experience.
• Knowledge of commercial building codes, plumbing materials, equipment, methods, and tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose systemic problems, service pumps in a production environment, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work safely in dirty, noisy, or confined spaces and perform prolonged standing, ladder climbing, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Nice to have

• Experience with sewer snakes and cleaning machinery.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Experience maintaining, installing, or repairing air compressors, centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps, rotary pumps, or vacuum pumps.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for service reports and internal communication.
