Application Architect (IT)

Location: Columbus, OH, United States; Workplace Type: Office

Salary: $70,000–$140,000 USD annual base compensation, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Define the application roadmap, technology direction, modernization initiatives, and target architecture for the commercial loan servicing platform.
• Develop solution approaches, architecture recommendations, technical roadmaps, estimates, and complexity assessments.
• Guide application design, API development, integration patterns, scalability, resiliency, security, and maintainability.
• Lead architecture reviews and cross-functional discussions while resolving technical challenges, risks, dependencies, and technical debt.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and system integration artifacts.
• Partner with business, product, infrastructure, vendor, and technology teams, and mentor developers and technical team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 7 years of experience in solution architecture, technology strategy, IT transformation, or financial services technology leadership.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, integration patterns, data platforms, resiliency, modern application architecture, and responsible AI governance concepts.
• Experience with SQL, application integration, and architecture governance in regulated, agile, product-centric, or scaled delivery environments.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to business and technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in banking, financial services, lending, or another regulated technology environment.
• Experience across business, application, data, infrastructure, security, cloud, and integration architecture domains.
• Familiarity with AI governance, model risk, responsible AI, data governance, privacy, explainability, and control frameworks.
