Area Service Manager (Commercial Refrigeration)

Location: Portland, Maine, United States; onsite. Travel within the region and frequent availability outside normal working hours are required.

Salary: $93,472–$173,7592 annual, with potential discretionary bonuses and incentives.

What you will do

• Manage district service operations, including contracts, emergency service, quoted work, renewals, warranty, and change requests.
• Lead field service teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance reviews, development, and disciplinary processes.
• Own customer satisfaction, relationship management, business development, issue resolution, and timely preventative and emergency service.
• Build and execute safety programs, inspections, communications, investigations, and prevention initiatives.
• Plan service work, revise schedules, manage budgets and forecasts, and identify cost-saving and risk-mitigation measures.
• Review contracts and estimates, analyze market trends, and collaborate across departments on process, invoicing, and collection issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience and a strong background in management or leadership.
• Working knowledge of basic refrigeration or commercial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.
• Strong business acumen, communication, organization, time management, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license, safe driving record, flexibility outside normal working hours, and frequent 24/7 availability.
