General Manager (Calibration)

Location: Newport News, Virginia, United States; primarily onsite in an office and customer-site environment.

What you will do

• Own the market P&L, develop annual plans and budgets, manage financial performance, and oversee expenses.
• Lead department staff through goal setting, training, career development, succession planning, and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with revenue generation and corporate teams to implement business development and sales strategies.
• Assess staffing and facility needs while improving operational processes and managing overhead.
• Work with Quality to maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards and resolve nonconforming customer issues.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, regulations, and site requirements.

Requirements

• Eight years of calibration experience, including at least three years managing teams.
• At least three years of P&L responsibility; multi-site experience is preferred.
• Ability to perform electrical, dimensional, temperature, pressure, and mechanical calibrations.
• Experience managing operational processes, continuous improvement, customer relationships, and cross-functional teams.
• Microsoft Office experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to obtain TWIC status.
• U.S. Persons only: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee status, or asylum status is required for ITAR-controlled information access.

Nice to have

• Experience in a growth-oriented business.
• Associate degree in Industrial Technology, bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a similar qualification.
