Senior Engineer 2, Merchandising (Fullstack, AI)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington; minimum 4 days per week in the hirify.global corporate headquarters office is required.

Salary: $166,000–$258,000 annual, with potential performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across the Retail Hub and hirify.global Vendor Management System.
• Develop React-based user interfaces, Java and Spring backend services, APIs, integrations, and shared platform capabilities.
• Build reliable event-driven workflows using Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, event sourcing, and publish/subscribe patterns.
• Design versioned APIs and data contracts with clear ownership and backward compatibility across teams.
• Apply AI tools and techniques to automate data reconciliation, improve development workflows, and enhance supplier-facing experiences.
• Drive code reviews, testing, observability, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, mentoring, and collaboration with product, design, engineering, and vendor-facing teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering or technology roles, including 2+ years of full-stack development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with a modern frontend framework such as React and with Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Experience designing distributed production systems, event-driven services, shared APIs, and data contracts.
• Experience building and operating production services on AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and technologies and the ability to identify meaningful product-development applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with vendor management, supplier onboarding, merchandising data, or marketplace systems.
• Experience with LangGraph, AWS Bedrock Agents, or retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.
• Familiarity with Terraform, AWS CDK, CI/CD pipeline design, open-source projects, or technical publishing.
