Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Boston, Massachusetts; office attendance is required three days per week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Annual base salary: $98,000–$182,000 for Level I or $119,000–$221,000 for Level II, depending on experience and technical depth.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deliver scalable, reliable software across the stack.
• Develop distributed systems and data-driven features for carrier and customer experiences.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code for implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Improve architecture, code quality, testing practices, and long-term system health through reviews and refactoring.
• Contribute to technical strategy and mentor engineering peers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience; candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply.
• Proven experience delivering production-quality applications and features.
• Experience designing distributed architectures, preferably in AWS, with knowledge of scalability, loose coupling, and separation of concerns.
• Practical experience using AI development tools to improve engineering workflows.
• Strong experience with relational and document-oriented databases, including performance tuning and scaling.
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, React, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern code management practices.
