Staff Engineer (Product)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; or Vancouver, Washington, United States. The role is associated with office locations and may be fully remote for select positions.

Salary: US candidates: $175,000–$250,000 USD annually; Canadian candidates: $170,000–$200,000 CDN annually.

What you will do

• Scope, plan, and lead large-scale technical initiatives aligned with business priorities and product roadmaps.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable systems across the frontend and backend using React, TypeScript, and Node.
• Deliver production-grade features while maintaining performance, security, reliability, and scalable architecture.
• Improve codebases, testing practices, deployment processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Debug complex issues across systems and services and guide technical decision-making.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams while mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of professional software development experience, including large-scale systems and organization-level architectural decisions.
• Strong React and TypeScript expertise and backend proficiency with Node.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and DynamoDB, plus third-party API integration and management.
• Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud infrastructure, system design, performance optimization, and application and infrastructure security.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and YAML configuration; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Experience with automated testing, QA practices, and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, Kubernetes, social networking platform, accessibility standards, AI-powered development tools, monitoring solutions such as DataDog, or rapid iterative development experience.
