Senior Product Engineer (Mechanical)

TL;DR

Senior Product Engineer (Mechanical): Designing and optimizing water process and drainage piping products with an accent on fluid mechanics and material science. Location: Hybrid (North Andover, MA). Must be in office 3 days per week; travel to St. Pauls, NC expected.

Salary: $130,000 - $145,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead new product development (NPD) for Process and Drainage Piping categories through the Stage-Gate process.
• Define technical deliverables, develop product architectures, and generate technical roadmaps.
• Gather customer feedback via VOC interviews and trade shows to inform design requirements.
• Manage the full design process from requirements gathering to final specifications and validation plans.
• Collaborate with product management, sourcing, production, and quality assurance teams.
• Create detailed technical reports and documentation to support product launches and lessons learned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in product or sustaining engineering.
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, materials science, and mechanical engineering principles.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD solid modeling software (Auto Desk Inventor preferred).
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC, UPC, NPCC, ASME B31.3, ISO 10931, and ASTM 1412.
• Must be based in North Andover, MA to satisfy hybrid office requirements.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of experience supervising or mentoring technical staff.
• Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing remote contract engineering resources.
• Experience in customer-facing roles such as technical sales or field service.
