Engineer Sr/Staff - Electrical or Non (Lead BESS)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid work is available for most office roles.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks for pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.
• Integrate automation, real-time monitoring, and advanced battery energy storage systems to improve performance, reliability, and operating costs.
• Implement arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to protect personnel and infrastructure.
• Provide technical expertise on power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for new construction and facility upgrades.
• Manage complex engineering projects from concept through completion while aligning scope, schedules, budgets, and business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• 15 years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or a related industry.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as a priority.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and PC-based tools.
• Experience reviewing arc flash studies, implementing improvements, and applying NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE codes.
• Preferred experience with PLC and HMI systems, project management, and Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC facility projects.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
