CNC Machinist/Programmer (Subsea Geothermal)

hirify.global is a pre-revenue startup developing modular subsea geothermal power plants that convert undersea thermal resources into baseload power.

What you will do

• Create CNC programs in CAM systems such as Mastercam for milling, turning, and mill-turn work.
• Set up and operate CNC equipment, including 5-axis mills and mill-turn machines, to produce precision parts from titanium, Inconel, and nickel-based alloys.
• Select workholding, toolholding, cutting tools, and machining strategies, then prove out programs and optimize feeds, speeds, cycle time, and tool life.
• Inspect parts using precision measurement tools and resolve fit-up, tolerance, and machinability issues in real time.
• Document setups, programs, and production issues for engineering and QA traceability.
• Collaborate with design and integration engineers on rapid prototyping, manufacturability, fixtures, and deployment hardware.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and machining experience.
• Extensive CAM programming experience with Mastercam or a similar system.
• Extensive experience machining titanium, Inconel, and other nickel-based alloys.
• Strong experience with 5-axis milling and/or mill-turn programming and machining.
• Ability to independently select machining strategies and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining documentation.
• Strong mechanical intuition, attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, ownership, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with both 5-axis milling and mill-turn machining.
• Feeds, speeds, and tooling library development for difficult-to-machine alloys.
• Marine, subsea, aerospace, energy, or high-pressure/high-temperature hardware experience.
• CMM or advanced metrology, manual machining, fabrication, fixture design, or test operations experience.
