Autonomous Vehicle Operator, CDL-A (6-MO Temporary)

Location: Henderson, Colorado; onsite yard work with up to 20% travel for fieldwork. Two-week paid training in Brighton, Colorado is required.

Hourly wage: $28.00–$32.00.

Software company developing electric, self-driving trucks that automate distribution yards and improve freight transportation safety and efficiency.

What you will do

• Operate autonomous vehicles in-cab for 8–10+ hours per day.
• Complete daily safety inspections and resolve issues proactively.
• Provide detailed verbal and written reports on system performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance, hardware installation, vehicle upkeep, and minor repairs.
• Support commercial, operations, and engineering teams with root-cause analysis and system improvements.
• Communicate issues and performance insights to AV dispatchers and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL in Colorado and other required states, carried at all times while working.
• Three years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Safe and proficient backing skills with various trailer types in dynamic yard environments.
• Clean driving record for the past five years.
• Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts, sometimes on short notice.
• Desktop and web application proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Yard hostler experience in a distribution center.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles or related technology.
• Background in operations, technology, robotics, or automotive work.
• Vehicle maintenance experience.
• Experience with Fleetio, Jira, Zendesk, or similar issue-ticketing software.
