Test Driver (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Atlanta, GA, USA; onsite at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

What you will do

• Operate autonomous airport tractors and supervise autonomous baggage tugs while transporting live cargo across the airfield.
• Manually drive vehicles to and from their storage depot.
• Log vehicle behavior, performance observations, and key metrics.
• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections of vehicles and hardware systems.
• Work with engineering to trial and test new vehicle features.
• Provide feedback on vehicle performance, handling, and complex driving scenarios while coordinating with cargo and baggage operations.

Requirements

• Experience handling specialty vehicle types in complex environments.
• Valid US Class C Driver’s License, at least 3 years of driving experience, and a clean driving record.
• Experience in a lead or sole-supervisor role with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, alertness, and driving judgment.
• Availability for flexible hours, including weekends.
• Ability to pass federal background checks and obtain and maintain an airport security badge.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary degree.
• Experience operating in airside environments or with autonomous vehicles and machinery.
• Experience with safety-critical infrastructure and test driving.
• Basic computer programming skills; ROS experience is a plus.
• Interest in autonomous driving and aviation, with familiarity with ATL cargo operations and airport layout.
