Senior Backend Developer (Python)

Location: 100% remote within the Continental United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and enhance complex enterprise-grade Python applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms.
• Build secure, production-ready systems and algorithms for distributed environments, with attention to concurrency, fault tolerance, observability, and performance.
• Develop and optimize data processing for large-scale datasets, including extraction, transformation, validation, deduplication, enrichment, and batch or near-real-time workloads.
• Create architecture and design artifacts, reporting mechanisms, dashboards, and data visualizations as needed.
• Identify defects, bottlenecks, and architectural weaknesses; improve reliability, coding standards, maintainability, and operational stability.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, Agile delivery, CI/CD, incident response, debugging, and collaboration with product, data, infrastructure, operations, and business teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Five or more years of applied Python development experience in enterprise-grade environments.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale production applications with high uptime and reliability requirements.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including query tuning and schema design.
• Knowledge of system design, application development, automated testing, SDLC, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, resiliency patterns, and secure coding.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• UNIX/Linux shell scripting and command-line tooling experience.
• Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and their application in code.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Exposure to AWS services and cloud-native storage such as S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue.
