(USA) Senior Director, Merchandising

Location: Sam's Home Office, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Salary: $130,000–$260,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible regional pay zone compensation.

What you will do

• Develop merchandising strategies for Women's Apparel using member buying behavior and industry trends.
• Lead assortment planning, item placement, and category management across channels.
• Use data analysis and digital tools to forecast demand, anticipate market shifts, and mitigate merchandise performance risks.
• Lead supplier negotiations and partnerships to improve commercial terms and supply chain efficiency.
• Build and develop a high-performing merchandising team through coaching, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Extensive merchandising experience with strong leadership capabilities.
• Expertise in trend analysis, category strategy, and assortment planning.
• Advanced data analysis and digital literacy skills.
• Strong understanding of supply chain operations and risk mitigation.
• Strong supplier negotiation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field plus 5 years of merchandising or related experience, or 7 years of such experience; 4 years of direct P&L responsibility required.
