Legal Counsel (Energy)

What you will do

• Support M&A, acquisitions, equity investments, employee share schemes, and core corporate governance matters.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements covering partnerships, technology licensing, innovative trials, customer-facing terms, and vendor supply.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice on data protection, intellectual property, competition, compliance, and other day-to-day matters.
• Support international expansion, including entry into new markets and establishment of new entities.
• Manage external counsel on high-value and specialist transactions.
• Work with senior business leaders across functions and take end-to-end ownership of legal projects.

Requirements

• Fully qualified UK lawyer, with around 2–4 years of post-qualification experience as a guide.
• Strong foundation in corporate and/or commercial law.
• In-house experience or private-practice experience with an in-house secondment in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to own projects independently with light supervision and take initiative during acquisition processes.
• Pragmatic, business-first approach to legal risk and deal execution.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines, multitask, and make firm decisions in a fast-paced setting.
