Focus on supporting complex sales cycles, structuring legal terms for training and inference, and building scalable legal processes for a high-growth AI company.
Location: Remote UK; fully remote.

is a UK AI startup building Orbital, a physics-informed foundation model for energy operations across oil and gas, refineries, and petrochemicals.
What you will do
- Own enterprise SaaS contracting, including MSAs, DPAs, SLAs, partnership agreements, and security addenda.
- Support complex customer negotiations, advise on pricing and licensing models, and develop contract templates and negotiation playbooks.
- Manage corporate contracts, company secretarial matters, governance, board and investor work, fundraising, due diligence, and strategic transactions.
- Oversee employment, contractor, consultancy, equity, confidentiality, IP assignment, and restrictive covenant documentation across UK and international hires.
- Advise on AI products, model weights, training and inference, data usage, model outputs, IP, liability, GDPR, UK GDPR, the EU AI Act, and export controls.
- Build scalable legal processes, manage external counsel, establish internal guidance, and identify legal and regulatory risks.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or an equivalent common law jurisdiction.
- 5–10 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally combining top-tier law firm and in-house work.
- Strong enterprise SaaS contracting experience and experience working with AI companies.
- Practical corporate experience covering company secretarial work, boards, investors, fundraising, or transactions.
- Working knowledge of UK employment law, data protection, technology law, and export controls.
- Ability to discuss model weights, training, inference, and fine-tuning with engineering teams and translate related risks into contract terms.
