Process & Mechanical Engineer Co-op/Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site at offices in Rochester, NY and/or Rush, NY, United States

Hourly rate: $21.00–$25.00 per hour, with potential eligibility for annual incentive and/or long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support client-facing engineering projects through requirements gathering, preliminary design, equipment specification and selection, engineering calculations, and materials selection.
• Develop process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, drawings, and schematics using CAD and process simulation tools.
• Create bills of materials and technical reports, and support project documentation and code and standards research.
• Assist with fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and the delivery of industrial equipment and automation solutions.
• Participate in internal and client meetings, design reviews, and project planning with project managers.
• Work with a senior or principal engineer mentor on technical and professional development goals.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Ability to work on-site at the Rochester, NY and/or Rush, NY offices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and personal management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with CAD software and/or process simulation tools; AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ChemCAD experience is preferred.
• Minimum preferred GPA of 3.0.

Nice to have

• Prior co-op, internship, or relevant project experience with industrial equipment or automation solutions.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or a similar quality system.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
