Mechanical Engineering Co Op/Intern - All Mills (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: U.S. mill locations including Counce, TN; DeRidder, LA; Filer City, MI; International Falls, MN; Jackson, AL; Massillon, OH; Riverville, VA; Tomahawk, WI; Valdosta, GA; and Wallula, WA. Candidates must be permanent U.S. residents.

Salary: $25–$30 per hour.

What you will do

• Support mechanical reliability assignments focused on mill safety, efficiency, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Apply lubrication, optical alignment, vibration analysis, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and root cause failure analysis techniques.
• Collect and analyze mill data for process optimization, troubleshooting, cost tracking, quality, product safety, and business decisions.
• Assist with capital projects from funding requests through completion, including planning, estimating, engineering design exposure, contractor field oversight, and coordination.
• Work with engineering, maintenance, operations, outside resources, and multidisciplinary teams to support mill operations.
• Use AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, process information systems, and PCA’s Trident CMMS program.

Requirements

• Permanent U.S. residency and a valid driver’s license are required.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Completed or will have completed the freshman year by the start of the co-op or internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Preferred candidates include students connected with the listed paper-foundation schools or enrolled at a state or technological university in the listed states.
