Chemical/Paper Engineering Co Op/Intern (Chemical/Paper Engineering)

Location: U.S. mill locations in Counce, TN; DeRidder, LA; Filer City, MI; International Falls, MN; Jackson, AL; Massillon, OH; Riverville, VA; Tomahawk, WI; Valdosta, GA; or Wallula, WA. Applicants must be permanent U.S. residents with a valid driver's license.

Starting salary: $25–$30.

What you will do

• Support process optimization and engineering projects improving mill efficiency, reliability, quality, safety, and cost performance.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process, production, laboratory, and control-system data to troubleshoot issues and support decisions.
• Conduct pulp, paper, and chemical testing for process evaluations, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Monitor process sensing equipment, consistency loops, control systems, and advanced process-control activities.
• Support startup activities, maintenance inspections, system audits, loop checks, I/O checkout, and outage work.
• Update drawings, equipment files, functional specifications, control documentation, and wiring records using company software.

Requirements

• Permanent U.S. residency and a valid driver's license.
• Majoring in Chemical Engineering, Paper Engineering, or a related field.
• Completed or expected to complete the freshman year before the co-op or internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Must be at least 18 years old at the time of the co-op or internship.

• Membership in the Paper Foundation at one of the listed partner universities.
