Mechanical Project Engineer (Piping)

Location: Afton, Texas, United States; indoor office work with occasional visits to outdoor industrial sites and up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Develop detailed piping designs, specifications, and layouts using CAD and engineering software.
• Perform piping stress analysis and flexibility evaluations under varied operating conditions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to integrate project designs.
• Review and approve vendor drawings and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support during construction and resolve design-related issues.
• Contribute to project planning, cost estimation, risk assessment, and milestone delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience with piping design and engineering; oil and gas, petrochemical, or power generation experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation and pipe stress analysis tools such as CAESAR II or ANSYS.
• Strong understanding of piping codes and standards, including ASME and API.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
