What you will do

• Perform independent design assurance reviews of civil and structural deliverables for utility-scale CCGT projects.
• Review site development, grading and drainage, stormwater systems, underground utilities, foundations, structural steel, buildings, pipe racks, and equipment support structures.
• Evaluate geotechnical inputs, equipment loads, anchor-bolt requirements, civil/structural interfaces, construction sequencing, access, and heavy-haul or crane routes.
• Review calculations, drawings, specifications, change documentation, RFIs, technical queries, NCRs, field quality issues, and proposed technical dispositions.
• Conduct constructability reviews and field walkdowns, support mitigation and repair plans, and help resolve issues affecting construction, commissioning, startup, and long-term maintainability.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, I&C, construction, commissioning, project controls, commercial, operations, EoR, EPC, OEM, and client stakeholders while documenting risks and recommendations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of civil/structural engineering experience on large capital projects in power generation or heavy process industries.
• Experience reviewing civil and structural designs for large industrial facilities through engineering, procurement, construction, or commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, equipment foundations, geotechnical interfaces, site development, grading and drainage, underground utilities, and industrial structures.
• Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, AWS, ASTM, and other applicable power-generation and heavy-industrial standards.
• Ability to evaluate drawings, calculations, geotechnical reports, vendor load data, specifications, shop drawings, field conditions, and engineering changes.
• Ability to walk active construction areas across moderate to rough terrain and comply with PPE and site safety requirements.

Nice to have

• Owner’s Engineer, Owner’s Representative, EPCM, or independent design assurance experience.
• Experience managing interfaces among EoR teams, OEMs, EPC contractors, construction contractors, and owners.
• Experience with EPC, EPCM, multi-prime, or owner-managed contracting models.
• Experience supporting constructability, system turnover, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness.
• Professional Engineer license or Engineer-in-Training certification.
