Geotechnical Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $161,000 – $197,000

What you will do

• Lead the geotechnical workstream for a multi-site development portfolio from site screening through construction.
• Scope and direct subsurface investigation programs, including RFPs, boring campaigns, and lab testing.
• Interpret subsurface data to assign foundation systems and design parameters.
• Collaborate with structural and civil teams on earthwork, grading, and foundation strategies.
• Perform geotechnical fatal-flaw screening during site due diligence.

Requirements

• Experience owning geotechnical engineering for large-scale site development.
• Proven ability to make foundation and ground-improvement decisions on difficult sites.
• Experience directing external consultants and labs from RFP through final report.
• Ability to read and challenge geotechnical reports rather than rubber-stamping them.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with structural, civil, and environmental engineers.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• PE or GE license.
• Experience in data center, industrial, or heavy-civil site development.
• Knowledge of seismic site response and deep foundation design.
