Principal Structural Civil Engineer (Solar PV and BESS)

Location: US, Louisville, Colorado, or remote from the United States; up to 25% travel to project locations and partner offices.

Salary: $145,000–$181,050 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Provide structural engineering support for utility-scale solar PV, BESS, high-voltage substation, overhead line, and gen-tie projects.
• Develop and review foundation concepts, including piles, anchors, grade beams, and helical foundations, for project estimating and execution.
• Review structural calculations, engineering studies, RFIs, design packages, and construction documents for code, specification, and authority requirements.
• Evaluate structural solutions, value-engineering opportunities, corrosion issues, material impacts, and construction alternatives.
• Support site visits, safety assessments, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and repair or remediation planning during construction and operations.
• Develop foundation databases, design tools, specifications, training, and quality-assurance processes for engineering teams.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in structural engineering or an equivalent technical field.
• 10+ years of professional structural engineering experience.
• 5+ years of PV, BESS, and WTG foundation design experience, or 2+ years of high-voltage substation and overhead-line design experience.
• Field experience with structural, civil, geotechnical, or design-build construction.
• Experience with structural engineering standards and codes in the United States.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer qualification, or progress toward qualification.
• Master’s degree in structural engineering.
• Experience with LPILE, finite-element analysis, SAP2000, STAAD, or similar modeling tools.
• Spanish language skills.
• OSHA 10-hour or comparable job-site safety certification.
