Forklift Operator I

What you will do

• Operate forklifts and related equipment to load and move steel, equipment, and other materials.
• Unload incoming truckloads and organize comparable steel in the yard.
• Position materials at the start of the galvanizing process for acid treatment.
• Coordinate machine movements with team members using hand or audio signals.
• Inspect fork trucks before use and perform basic operator maintenance.
• Follow safety regulations, monitor hazards, and maintain safe operating conditions.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret typed reports and schedules.
• Ability to perform basic operator maintenance on fork trucks.
• Ability to complete on-site training and demonstrate safe machinery operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift or moving-machinery certification and prior experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of material handling, banding, palletizing, and truck loading preferred.
