Production Overhead Crane Operator (Steel)

Location: Charter Steel, 1658 Cold Springs Rd., Saukville, Wisconsin, United States. Onsite night-shift role with 12-hour shifts from 4:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Pay: $26.50 per hour, plus a $2,000 hiring bonus.

What you will do

• Rotate through production positions during a 12-hour shift.
• Operate overhead cranes and place chains and spacer bars between billets.
• Use power tools to remove kerf from billets.
• Apply identification tags with a welding torch and mark billets with chalk.
• Perform quality inspections while walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
• Work a rotating 5-2-2-5 schedule: five nights on, two off, two on, and five off.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; support is available through the free GEDWorks program.
• Basic math skills, including counting and simple calculations.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial production, assembly, warehousing, welding, construction, metals, steel, or other hands-on work.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• Forklift experience.
• Overhead crane experience.
