Senior Actuarial Analyst (Insurance): Delivering actuarial analysis for Markel’s UK portfolio across reserving, pricing, and portfolio management with an accent on large account pricing, pricing tool validation, and reserve risk parameterisation. Focus on producing quarterly reserving deliverables, supporting business planning and capital modeling, and presenting analysis to senior stakeholders.
Location: London, UK; attendance at the London office at least two days per week, with visits to UK offices a few times a year

What you will do
- Deliver actuarial insight across reserving, pricing, and portfolio management for the UK business.
- Provide technical and operational support to the Specialty and UK underwriting division.
- Partner with underwriting teams on large account pricing, pricing tool validation, and reserving activities.
- Support business planning and parameterisation of underwriting and reserve risk in capital models.
- Own core processes and produce deliverables for external purposes.
- Present analyses and provide actuarial support to the wider International Actuarial team.
Requirements
- Experience across a broad range of actuarial pricing and reserving topics.
- Experience working with senior underwriters and delivering analyses for portfolio management.
- Experience presenting at formal meetings with senior management.
- Experience with actuarial business planning and underwriting and reserve risk parameterisation.
- Ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders in Finance, Underwriting, Capital, and related functions.
- Ability to work from the London office at least two days per week and visit UK offices several times a year.
