Senior Actuary (Insurance)

What you will do

• Provide actuarial pricing analysis for new, renewal, structured, delegated, and follow-line insurance deals.
• Assess expected profitability, volatility, capital impact, and portfolio interaction for individual transactions.
• Develop portfolio monitoring processes covering profitability, rate adequacy, emerging trends, and market movements.
• Contribute to business planning, loss ratio selections, reinsurance structure assessments, and exposure management.
• Partner with underwriters, data, systems, and analytics teams to improve pricing tools, data quality, automation, and analytical outputs.
• Communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and participate in broker and client meetings.

Requirements

• Fellowship of a recognised actuarial body or equivalent experience with strong exam progression.
• Strong general insurance pricing experience, ideally in the London Market, including complex or non-standard risks.
• Experience with pricing models, portfolio analysis, and large or complex datasets.
• Strong analytical judgement, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple business functions.
• Proficiency in Excel, VBA, and SQL, with the ability to create pricing tools for underwriting workflows.

Nice to have

• R or Python skills.
• Experience with portfolio or follow-line capacity arrangements, structured or multi-line insurance solutions, or delegated authority and MGA business.
• Familiarity with exposure management, aggregation risk, and pricing system or model development.
