Principal Presales Engineer (German speaker) (Twilio Communications APIs): Leading technical presales for complex communications products through discovery, architecture design, product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and customer enablement with an accent on API solutions, technical storytelling, and customer trust. Focus on designing REST API and communications architectures, solving customer integration challenges, presenting complex solutions to technical and executive audiences, and mentoring presales engineers.
Location: Remote, based in the UK, Ireland, or Spain. Approximately 35% travel is expected for customer meetings, team gatherings, and off-sites.

What you will do
- Partner with Account Executives on opportunity qualification, demonstrations, proofs of concept, RFPs, design documentation, technical presentations, and enablement sessions.
- Lead technical discovery and recommend best-practice solutions using Twilio communications APIs.
- Design, demonstrate, and present technical architectures that address customer communications needs.
- Build interactive demonstrations for technical and nontechnical stakeholders and establish trusted customer relationships.
- Create reusable demonstration materials and presentations while contributing knowledge to the presales engineering community.
- Mentor less experienced Presales Engineers and help solve customer and organizational problems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of presales experience selling complex technical products, or 10+ years of professional experience supporting technical products with customer-facing delivery or consulting experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and technical storytelling skills.
- Previous software development experience or working knowledge of backend technologies such as Java, C#, Node, Python, or PHP.
- Experience with web development, frontend frameworks, and REST APIs.
- Previous experience in telecom, SIP, contact centers, or security, plus experience with sales methodologies.
- Proficient German speaker and a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and cloud application architecture.
- Experience working with customers in the DACH region.
