Staff Software Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead complex, cross-team software engineering initiatives.
• Design and develop systems involving distributed systems, cloud platforms, or large-scale data.
• Apply strong system-design and software architecture practices.
• Drive operational excellence, reliability, and observability for production systems.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence engineering culture and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least eight years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in at least one major backend language.
• Demonstrated experience with technical leadership, mentorship, system design, and architecture.
• Strong understanding of reliability, observability, operational excellence, and engineering standards.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.

Nice to have

• Experience leading multi-year platform modernization initiatives.
• Public technical contributions such as talks, papers, or open-source software.
• Experience operating large-scale production systems.
• Experience building engineering organizations and platforms.
• Familiarity with FinOps and cost-aware engineering practices.
