Engineering Manager for Object Storage (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Remote in the United States

Salary: $204,000–$289,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build and lead a team developing object storage and future abstractions on top of it.
• Drive product initiatives from ideation through launch while maintaining reliability and quality.
• Partner with Product, Design, Infrastructure, customers, and internal stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions and roadmaps.
• Guide system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoff decisions.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, hiring, performance management, and technical guidance.
• Break down complex problems into incremental milestones and improve engineering practices, ownership, and delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience shipping products or features with downstream business and ecosystem impact.
• 2+ years of experience managing people, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
• Strong background in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs, ideally including stateful services.
• Product-oriented approach to translating business goals and user needs into roadmaps and shipped features.
• Ability to balance delivery speed with high quality, reliability, and long-term system health.
• Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and accountability across engineering, product, and design.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or DevTools.
• Experience building highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
• Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling, processes, and team practices.
• Experience building products used directly by developers or technical users.
• Successful collaboration with product, marketing, and customer support teams to drive adoption and retention.
