Staff Engineering Manager, Licensing

Salary: USD $140,400–$372,300 per year, plus eligible bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead teams building licensing, subscription access, usage tracking, and billing solutions.
• Ensure technical designs meet cost, security, compliance, reliability, and scalability requirements.
• Coordinate project and release plans with Product and cross-organizational stakeholders.
• Guide safe deployments, live-service incident resolution, and reuse of developer tools.
• Improve quality assurance processes and influence architecture and engineering practices across the organization.
• Hire, coach, retain, and develop engineering talent.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software engineering or related technical experience, or equivalent experience through the listed education pathways.
• Production software development experience with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• 3+ years of people management experience.
• Strong system design and architecture skills, including resilient, cloud-native, event-driven distributed systems.
• Experience leading large, diverse engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
• Experience with billing, metering, licensing, or systems with direct financial or compliance impact.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure, Cosmos DB, or Go.
• Experience developing customer-facing product experiences and applying UX principles.
