Senior Engineering Manager

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; Boston, Massachusetts; or Louisville, Kentucky, United States

Annual base compensation: $145,000–$180,000. Estimated total cash compensation: $163,125–$202,500.

What you will do

• Manage one or two engineering teams comprising approximately 4–10 engineers.
• Own hiring, retention, professional development, and performance management across the full talent lifecycle.
• Partner with Product Management to balance feature development, technical debt, maintenance, and platform stability.
• Lead design reviews and guide teams toward scalable, simple, and pragmatic technical solutions.
• Use Agile practices and customer feedback loops to deliver value in small, frequent cycles.
• Drive TDD, CI/CD, automation, high test coverage, and blocker removal to improve release confidence and delivery velocity.

Requirements

• Experience as a player-coach who can provide technical guidance while leading with empathy and high emotional intelligence.
• Strong engineering background with a pragmatic approach to solving technical problems without over-engineering.
• Experience mentoring engineers, building diverse teams, creating career plans, and providing direct feedback.
• Commitment to engineering excellence, code review practices, test coverage, and automation.
• Ability to collaborate strategically with Product Management, quality teams, customers, and engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience managing engineering teams and working with modern software technology stacks.
• Experience with Jira, Slack, and Zoom.
• Background in enterprise-grade web products at scale or distributed systems.
• Experience with mobile development, embedded hardware integrations, DevOps practices, or remote and distributed teams.
• Open-source contributions and interest in technical and business challenges in the hospitality industry.
