Customer Quality Sustaining Sr. Staff Engineer (HDD)

Location: Shakopee, Minnesota, or Longmont, Colorado, United States. Travel up to 10% nationally and internationally.

Base salary: $120,265–$175,283 per year, depending on work location and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead a global customer support team providing HDD product quality support across the full product lifecycle.
• Coordinate customers, field engineers, design center quality organizations, and factory technical support teams during quality issue resolution.
• Own customer business and quality metrics, including product performance and customer satisfaction.
• Manage sustaining activities such as customer integration DPPM, field ARR/AFR, escalations, and failure-analysis reporting.
• Prepare and present customer reports and technical presentations for senior-level audiences.
• Manage quality deliverables for new product qualifications and represent customer needs across hirify.global.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of disk drive technology and substantial experience in the hard disk drive industry.
• Ability to develop, interpret, and proactively manage DPPM, AFR, ARR, and related quality metrics.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to derive conclusions from raw data.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of JMP, Weibull, and/or Minitab.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field with 12+ years of experience, master’s degree with 8+ years, PhD with 5+ years, or equivalent education and experience.
• Must be based at the Shakopee, Minnesota, or Longmont, Colorado location and able to travel nationally and internationally.

Nice to have

• Systems-level experience.
• Experience in customer quality engineering, field engineering, technical customer support, qualification management, or supplier engineering.
