Principal Engineer, Product Development Engineering (Semiconductor)

Salary: $142,000–$241,400 per year

What you will do

• Lead product development from pre-silicon design through first silicon, qualification, and production.
• Develop test strategies, test flows, screening methodologies, product specifications, and test algorithms.
• Perform electrical and functional failure analysis, identify root causes, and define corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, device, manufacturing, quality, system, and firmware teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Monitor product quality and reliability metrics and drive continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Mentor engineers, communicate technical recommendations to stakeholders, and manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Hands-on product development engineering experience with troubleshooting and failure analysis expertise.
• Strong knowledge of electrical failure analysis, root-cause diagnosis, corrective actions, statistical analysis, and data interpretation.
• Experience managing the product lifecycle from design through qualification and production.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
• Leadership experience, including mentoring and developing engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with 6+ years of experience.
• Semiconductor or memory product development experience.
• Knowledge of system architecture, firmware principles, device physics, DFM, DFT, and DPPM improvement.
• Project management certification or demonstrated project leadership experience.
• Experience with advanced testing and characterization equipment.
