Engineering Manager: Product & Vendor Insights (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington. Conditions: 500 Pine St, Seattle, Washington 98101.

Salary: $166,000–$258,000 annual, with possible performance-based incentives or bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead approximately eight engineers building and operating event-driven pipelines and cloud data warehouse products for product, pricing, vendor, and promotions data.
• Own the enterprise product dimension layer covering tens of millions of items across the product hierarchy.
• Drive the brand partner data program, including data feeds for onboarding and supporting external strategic partners.
• Deliver pricing analytics, promotional event data, and campaign-specific reporting views with merchandising and marketing stakeholders.
• Lead platform modernization through medallion architecture migration, observability, monitoring, data governance, and cloud infrastructure improvements.
• Recruit, coach, and retain engineers while contributing to architecture, design, DevOps, and production support decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with event-driven systems, distributed data pipelines, or enterprise data products.
• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or Confluent Cloud, plus Java and/or Java Spring Boot for microservice consumers.
• Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, or a similar cloud data warehouse, along with AWS and/or GCP and Terraform.
• Strong DevOps experience, including CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and production support.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; the role is hybrid in Seattle, Washington.

Nice to have

• Experience in retail, merchandising, supply chain, or vendor data domains.
• Familiarity with event sourcing, schema registries, Confluent Cloud platform management, or Apache Flink.
• Experience delivering dimensional models, gold/silver layer tables, or other enterprise-scale cloud data warehouse products.
• Experience leading infrastructure migrations, platform consolidations, or medallion/lakehouse architecture transitions.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across business and engineering functions.
