Container Platform Engineer (OpenShift)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Architect, provision, operate, and upgrade Red Hat OpenShift clusters across on-premises, virtualized, and major cloud environments.
• Design multi-tenant platforms with project isolation, network policies, quotas, RBAC, and security context controls.
• Automate cluster lifecycle operations with OpenShift tooling, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
• Enable application teams through self-service patterns, project templates, CI/CD integrations, and documentation.
• Manage networking, storage, observability, image security, secrets, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams; mentor junior engineers and provide OpenShift expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years operating production container platforms, including at least three years with Red Hat OpenShift.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift internals, including operators, CRDs, RBAC, and networking.
• Strong Linux administration, troubleshooting, networking, and performance-tuning skills.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting in Bash, Python, or Go.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Red Hat OpenShift certification at specialist or architect level.
• Experience with OpenShift on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to service mesh technologies such as OpenShift Service Mesh, Istio, or Linkerd.
• Experience with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, Argo CD, or Flux.
