Software Engineer - Platform, Mission Systems (Aerospace)

Location: Remote in Canada or the United States. If located near a hirify.global office, work from that office 3 days per week.

Salary: CAD 103,800–129,700 per year, with potential short-term and long-term incentives, bonus, and equity.

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers satellite data through a cloud-based platform.

What you will do

• Maintain and extend automation and services responsible for satellite operations.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and supporting tooling for internal users and customer-facing service-level agreements.
• Evaluate software technologies and design and deploy critical infrastructure.
• Build, maintain, and operate Mission Control tools and distributed microservices for spacecraft scheduling, tasking, and telemetry processing.
• Collaborate with Satellite and Ground Operations, Pipeline, and Product teams to support the satellite constellation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP, and infrastructure management with Ansible or similar tools including Kubernetes or Terraform.
• Professional experience with Python, relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, Linux, and automated testing.
• Experience with peer-reviewed code, code review, documentation, and CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI and Docker.
• Ability to solve problems independently and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with API design, monitoring tools such as Datadog or Sentry, and microservice environments.
• Knowledge of aerospace concepts.
