Firmware Engineering Specialist III (Firmware Testing)

Location: Shakopee, United States; onsite at the Shakopee campus. Day shift, Monday through Friday, eight hours per day; occasional weekday or Saturday overtime may be required.

Salary: $24.94–$35.66 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate Linux and Windows enterprise server systems for manual and automated firmware testing.
• Install and configure operating systems, hardware, drivers, BIOS, system firmware, networks, test software, and RAID storage.
• Prepare SAS and SATA drives through kitting, firmware downloads, formatting, security activation, and labelling.
• Support failure analysis by collecting system and drive logs and setting up analysis tools.
• Monitor testing across 200 or more servers and troubleshoot failures in internal and customer systems.
• Manage an inventory of 5,000 or more test drives and support safe, efficient lab operations.

Requirements

• Experience in a test or production department, including equipment maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting host operating systems, test software, system hardware, cabling, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of hard-drive handling, connectivity, and troubleshooting; mass-storage industry experience is expected.
• Some experience interpreting, writing, or debugging scripting languages.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, prioritization, multitasking, and independent-work skills.
