Embedded Software Engineer III (C/C++)

Location: Centennial, Colorado, USA; primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility. US citizenship required.

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 per year, depending on qualifications.

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded software in C and C++ for constrained environments.
• Define technical approaches and take ownership of feature development for critical projects.
• Implement state machines and handle asynchronous events such as interrupts and signals.
• Apply operating-system concepts including process scheduling, resource sharing, and synchronization.
• Integrate networking capabilities into embedded devices, including IP and MAC layer functionality.
• Support system integration while working with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python and C and/or C++, including object-oriented programming principles.
• Solid knowledge of kernel and user space, task scheduling, memory management, and synchronization primitives.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, MAC addresses, and packet inspection tools.
• US citizenship is required; the role is primarily onsite in Centennial, Colorado.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized Linux user-space applications.
• Exposure to Yocto or kernel driver development.
• Experience with space networking technologies and standards.
• DoD Secret clearance.
