TL;DR
Epic Senior Systems Analyst - Ambulatory (Epic): Designing, configuring, testing, training, deploying, and supporting Epic applications for ambulatory healthcare workflows with an accent on clinical operations, system integration, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. Focus on translating stakeholder requirements into reliable Epic builds, managing upgrades and incidents, validating HL7/FHIR interfaces, and supporting complex healthcare projects.

Location: Remote work limited to Ohio; work at home in Columbus, Ohio 43202.

What you will do

  • Gather stakeholder requirements, map healthcare workflows, perform gap analyses, and design Epic configurations aligned with operational goals.
  • Configure, test, deploy, and support Epic applications, including records, workflows, security, reporting, interfaces, and downstream processes.
  • Manage smaller implementation and upgrade projects using waterfall or agile methodologies, leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Coordinate releases, environment moves, go-live support, hypercare, service requests, incident triage, root-cause analysis, and SLA delivery.
  • Collaborate with interface and analytics teams on HL7, FHIR, CCD/CCDA, Clarity, Caboodle, registries, and operational reporting.
  • For the training focus, design and govern CareConnect curricula, maintain training environments, and improve end-user support processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, healthcare administration, or a related field; 10+ years of relevant healthcare experience may substitute for the degree.
  • 5–7 years of system analysis and support experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows, plus strong requirements gathering, workflow design, testing, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, change control, SDLC, system governance, and waterfall/agile project methodologies.
  • Experience managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Work must be performed from Ohio.

Nice to have

  • Current Epic certification or proficiency in relevant modules such as HB, PB, Cadence, Referrals, Orders, ClinDoc, or Clarity.
  • Three or more years of Epic build and configuration experience, system integration, HL7/FHIR, and interface testing.
  • SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, Radar, Reporting Workbench, business intelligence, or analytics experience.
  • For the Application Training role: Epic Training Environment Build certification with 3+ years of experience and two Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation, healthcare application, cloud platform, regulatory compliance, or large hospital system experience.
