Salary: $94,000–$117,000 annual base salary.

What you will do

  • Develop and deploy deposition, reactive etching, annealing, and other wafer manufacturing equipment.
  • Oversee equipment issues, scrap reduction, MDA, cycle-time reduction, maintenance paths, installation, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Develop factory automation systems using C#, Python, or R to improve tool performance.
  • Implement KPIV controls, Out-of-Control Action Plans, preventive maintenance instructions, manufacturer training plans, and equipment safety controls.
  • Evaluate tools, parts, and materials for cost-effective manufacturing and maintain equipment-control documentation across recording-head sites.
  • Provide technical support to equipment repair and process engineering organizations and apply AI-driven workflows to improve operational excellence.

Requirements

  • PhD in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with wafer manufacturing and semiconductor production equipment.
  • Hands-on familiarity with vacuum tooling and processes such as physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition, ion beam milling, ICP etching, or annealing in high- to ultra-high-vacuum environments.
  • Knowledge of design of experiments, statistical analysis, Six Sigma, and tools such as JMP or Minitab.
  • Experience with computer hardware and/or programming, plus AI and machine learning knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze data, perform KPIV analysis, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and work after hours as needed.
