What you will do

• Support the design, development, qualification, and testing of materials and warhead systems for Air Force hypersonic weapons programs.
• Advise on mechanical design, manufacturing, energetic fills, penetration modeling, warhead performance, aircraft integration, fatigue and stress analysis, insensitive munitions, and composites.
• Analyze metals, ceramics, plastics, coatings, fluids, and other materials to identify suitable compositions and applications.
• Determine material composition, atomic and molecular configuration, fabrication methods, and processing techniques for system applications.
• Support materials testing and evaluation, corrosion control, failure analysis, inspection techniques, specifications, and maintenance procedures throughout the life cycle.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 20 years of relevant technical or professional experience, or a master’s degree and 15 years of experience, or a PhD and 5 years of experience.
• Engineering degrees must be from an ABET-accredited college of engineering; engineering technology degrees do not qualify.
• The degree must have been received in the year of, or any year after, the original accreditation date.
