AI and Agentic Engineer I (AI)

Location: Alameda, California, United States; office-based working conditions.

Salary: $129,000–$182,000 annually, with compensation varying by U.S. geographic market.

What you will do

• Build pilot AI applications and agentic workflows under the direction of senior engineers.
• Prototype with AI-assisted development tools and evolve solutions into maintainable, spec-driven code with tests, modular design, and error handling.
• Develop agents that connect LLMs, prompts, tools, and REST APIs to automate multi-step IT and business tasks.
• Execute CI/CD activities for automated testing, build validation, and artifact versioning.
• Create architecture notes, setup instructions, operational runbooks, and end-user guidance.
• Participate in prompt and code reviews, pre-release validation, and secure-by-design responsible AI practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with relevant experience, or a master’s degree with relevant experience; equivalent combinations may be considered.
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience, including work with LLM-enabled applications, agentic workflows, or API integrations.
• Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, tool use, planning and execution loops, guardrails, prompt version management, and context engineering.
• Familiarity with automated testing, linting, CI pipelines, REST APIs, Git, and software development fundamentals.
• General to intermediate proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Attention to security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI practices.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AWS Cloud, AWS Bedrock, Databricks Mosaic AI, or comparable agent frameworks.
• Experience with Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent coding agents.
