Assistant Project Manager (Mechanical)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; onsite with frequent outdoor construction-site work

What you will do

• Support the senior project management team in executing construction projects and meeting schedule requirements.
• Initiate and track change orders, maintaining communication between field management and the owner on scope changes.
• Support oversight of third-tier subcontractors and assist with project budget creation and enforcement.
• Assist with preparing and submitting the Schedule of Values.
• Oversee Project Engineers handling RFIs, submittals, quantity takeoffs, and material tracking.
• Support quality control during electrical construction and commissioning and oversee project closeout documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of project management experience in the electrical construction industry.
• Proficiency with project management software, including Microsoft 365, Accubid, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of CAD/BIM software and electrical systems and industry standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
• NFPA 70E or OSHA certifications, and the ability to work outdoors and at job sites most of the time.
