Project Manager (Construction)

Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States; regular travel to active construction sites and meetings is required.

Old Dominion Insulation provides mechanical insulation services to general contractors, mechanical contractors, and building owners across the United States.

What you will do

• Lead, plan, and coordinate assigned construction projects through completion, maintaining milestones, budgets, safety, quality, and company standards.
• Supervise and mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers while providing technical guidance and feedback.
• Manage project documentation, submittals, drawing logs, turnover binders, billing, and financial performance.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, scope adherence, and safety requirements.
• Manage client communication, change orders, vendor negotiations, and material procurement.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while coordinating labor needs and production goals with Construction Managers and Superintendents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; advanced training is preferred.
• Associate degree with 5+ years of progressively responsible construction experience, or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of construction experience.
• At least 2 years of experience managing project budgets and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, methods, rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and mechanical drawings, using Microsoft Office, and using Bluebeam and/or On-Screen Takeoff.
• Strong leadership, delegation, negotiation, communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills.

Nice to have

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
• PMP or equivalent certification.
